Snap Button Types and Applications

In Hobby Trendy, we carry two main groups of snap buttons. 

Plastic snap buttons and metal snap buttons.  

We, currently have white and black plastic snap buttons and the dies that is used to apply these . Our plastic snap buttons have 12.5mm diameter.  Please click on the images to be redirected to the product pages. For these snap buttons, we recommend to open a hole on the material you use before applying. We recommend our 2 mm hole punch for opening a hole on your material

Plastic Snap Buttons

Our metal snap buttons have three groups within itself.

First group is baby snap buttons and we currently carry 3 types of baby snap buttons. Open ring, capped ring and pearl ring.

Our Open Ring Baby snap buttons are rust free, made from brass in Turkey.  They don't require a hole punch and they are self piercing snap buttons. However, due to this reason they are suitable for softer fabric/material rather than rough /dense/thick materials.

The second type of baby snap buttons are capped snap buttons, as you may see in the picture. The difference from the open ring snap buttons is that this set's top piece is capped not open ring. These are also 9.5 mm diameter , no rust , made of brass material, non-tarnished nickel plated. T o be able to apply these properly, you will a set of dies and a manual hand press machine. The third and last type of baby snap buttons are faux-pearl top snap buttons. This snap top features a domed, synthetic half-pearl rimmed with a silver ring. The other 3 pieces are as same as capped and or open ring snap buttons. These are also 9.5 mm diameter , no rust , made of brass material, non-tarnished nickel plated. Interested? you may click on the pictures to be redirected to the product pages. 

 

Our second group of metal snap buttons are fashion spring snap buttons.  Fashion spring snap buttons are commonly used on leather, jeans, jackets, or general applications where a metal snap is preferred. Fashion snaps are more decorative and bulky than the utility spring. In our store, we carry three different sizes and their matching dies to apply them with our manual hand press machine

First size is called VT2 and 10mm in diameters. This is also line 16 buttons equivalent snap buttons. We have three colors in all  sizes of snap buttons including VT2, silver, bronze and black, currently. Snap buttons are sold in various size of packages .  You may buy the dies, snaps and machine separately or as a discounted set. You may click on the images to see the product pages.

 

 

Second size we have is 12.5 mm in diameters and called System 54. This size is line 20 buttons equivalent snap buttons. 

Our largest size for fashion snap buttons is 15mm, also called Alfa snap buttons. This size is line 24 button size equivalent and also comes in 3 colors and in a bundle as well as sold separately.

 

Our third group of metal snap buttons are Utility line snap buttons, like the fashion snap buttons, are commonly used on leather, jeans, jackets, or general applications where a metal snap is preferred. Utility snaps are less bulky than the fashion and have a somewhat stronger grip. We currently have one size utility snap buttons. 61 - 15mm ( line 24) . 

Our 61 utility snap buttons are 15 mm diameter (line 24 equivalent) and come in three colors; that are silver, bronze and black.  We have the matching dies and the hand press to apply them with. As we have in fashion snaps, we carry these products as a bundle and/or sell them individually and smaller packages.

We have the dies for,  61 mini is 12.5 mm diameter ( line 20 equivalent )  , currently we don't carry these snap buttons .
